Here’s to the world of possibilities and opportunities

by Jan on August 12, 2009

This is going to be a fairly short post – well shorter than my previous ones because my dog, Mozart, is currently whinging and whining in the background to go for a walk..

However I know it’s been a while since I last wrote here and to be honest I wasn’t sure what to say. I had finished the series on creative habits and then there was this blank. I wondered, now what do I want to write about?

And then as I was catching up on my RSS, a particular post from Tara Joyce, whose posts I enjoy reading and always make your think, caught my eye. Her blog is the Rise of the Innerpreneur and I highly recommend subscribing to it.

Anyway in her post ‘Taking Our Self Too Seriously” Tara shares her feelings and thoughts on what happened when she lost sight of why she started writing her blog in the first place. In her post Tara said:

I’ve now created unnecessary pressure on myself. I’ve now created a scenario where I feel that I owe you something. I’ve replaced writing for pleasure with writing under duress.

And I thought to myself – YES!  That’s what I’ve been feeling.

And so there is going to be a bit of a change of focus at The Creative Infopreneur. I want it to also be an outlet for my own creativity as well as thoughts and musings on the vagaries of the infopreneurial world. If over time anyone else would like to join in and share their thoughts and own creativity that would be fabulous.

So in celebration of this I’m going to share with you to a short poem I wrote the other day. I like writing poems – they are not very good but I find writing them therapeutic and fun. It’s probably a product of my introvert nature…

This one is about Mozart, who is almost 21 months old now, and given I started this post with a mention of him I thought it would be appropriate to finish it about him.

“Did You Miss Me”

I am gone for a day
just over 24 hours,
but still you look at me as if to say
that’s far too long.

I have a life!
I exclaim to you.
Don’t you know
You’re a dog.

And you look at me
silent, as if to test
my loyalty and love.
OK I say, just let it rest.
